10 Assemble mailings, admissions packets, event folders and other recruitment materials
Assist with special projects as needed Essential
45 Conduct Campus Tours and Presentations.Give enthusiastic and in depth tours of campus that highlight the strengths and resources of UAA to daily visitors, group visits and during recruitment events
Give presentations in one-on-one and group settings that highlight similar information as given during a campus tour
Serve as front line staff in the Office of Admissions - Student Recruitment Hub
Greeting guests, answering phone calls and emails as a representative of the Office of Admissions
Assisting in preparing for daily visitors including preparing materials and check in sheets
Data entry and general office support
Enter and update prospective student information into the customer relations management system (CRM) Essential
45 UAA Office of Admissions Student Ambassadors represent UAA to prospective students, their families and the general public. Ambassadors are expected to maintain a professional appearance and positive
attitude, give campus tours, perform office work, provide outreach to prospective students and participate in Office of Admissions recruitment and training events. Student ambassadors play a key role in
successful recruitment of prospective students to UAA. Essential
Primary Goals- To encourage prospective students to choose the University of Alaska Anchorage as their college choice. To represent UAA and be the face of the university to incoming students and their parents at campus events, tours, and on the phone.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Initiative, enthusiasm, energy, knowledge of the UAA campus, organizational skills, ability to work with a diverse student population, comfortable with public speaking. Student Ambassadors must be dependable, outgoing, and possess the ability to listen, problem solve, and react quickly. Prefer students who have a valid driver's license and an in depth knowledge of student life and opportunities around campus for incoming students such as student clubs. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Eligibility- To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must have earned and continue to maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above. Students must work at least 10 hours a week Monday-Friday, and be a currently enrolled student taking 12 credits or more. Students must also pass a background check.
