Kodiak College is searching for a Registrar and Admissions Advisor.
Provide coverage for Academic Counselor and act as department lead as assigned during extended absences (off-contract, vacation/extended leave, position vacancy).
Coordinate with UAA to train Student Services staff and faculty in the use of student service technology to include Banner, UAOnline, DegreeWorks, OnBase and others as appropriate. Essential
10 Representation of Duties:
Represent Kodiak College on the applicable UA workteams to include: Catalog/schedule, registration, academic history, admissions, imaging, duplicate ID, graduation and student support services.
Member of Kodiak College Instructional Council
Serve in a leadership role in campus programming and student services, providing policy and procedure guidance to inform best practice.
Initiate discussions about improving campus and student services processes, and recommend changes as warranted. Essential
15 Records & Reporting:
Ensure security and integrity of student records from admission to graduation.
Create, maintain, interpret and deliver reports as requested by faculty and administration (enrollment, admission, academic program, graduation and other student data).
Coordinate campus grading processes and procedures, providing training to faculty/instructors as needed.
Update student academic standing and produce Dean's & Chancellor's list each semester and provide notifications as required to students and to relevant faculty/staff.
Work with UAA to correct duplicate student ID's as identified.
Process and evaluate student documents, train and supervise Student Services staff in accurate management of student records.
Supervise maintenance of original documents according to required retention periods and coordinate document imaging, destruction and disposal. Essential
30 Admissions & Advising:
Provide admissions advising and coordinate the design, development and delivery of outreach and recruitment materials and events.
Manage curriculum information and process, evaluate and maintain admissions documents (applications, change of major, transcripts, test scores, residency, military records, etc.).
Troubleshoot admissions related issues and errors.
Make appropriate referrals for program advising, financial aid, testing services and support services (student coaching, tutorial support, etc.).
Assist with admissions, graduation and enrollment verification upon request.
Interpret DegreeWorks, test results and transfer evaluations to determine course placement.
Ensure procurement and delivery of diplomas.
Work closely with UAA Office of Admissions to ensure compliance with policy, procedure and best practice. Essential
30 Registration & Scheduling:
Coordinate with faculty/instructors, administration, UAA and Kodiak College business office to set-up and maintain all course schedule information.
Supervise registration and enrollment activities and provide registration advising related to schedule changes and financial aid (add, drop, withdraw, audit, etc.).
Provide registration overrides as required (verify appropriate approvals).
Troubleshoot registration issues and errors.
Facilitate communication between Kodiak College and Kodiak High School to set-up and maintain dual enrollment course offerings and manage secondary student registration process(es).
Communicate with students, administration, faculty and staff regarding academic information and deadlines.
Work closely with UAA Registrar's office to ensure compliance with policy, procedure and best practice.
Work with UAA to interpret academic regulations and apply policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner in compliance with UAA academic standards and accreditation. Essential

Respond to student service inquiries related to admissions, advising, registration, financial aid, transcripts, campus resource referrals, etc.
Review & route student services forms.
Coordinate with department employees to ensure department coverage during business hours, assisting with reception and phones as necessary. Essential
Knowledge of university system to be able to refer students to appropriate areas for assistance. Knowledge of best practices, federal laws, and legal issues and policy associated with and applicable to student services and higher education. Knowledge of marketing/advertising principles. Advanced public speaking skills. Ability to comprehend and apply university policies and procedures as they apply to students. Ability to troubleshoot situations to determine the best course of action. Ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment. Must understand legal obligations in safeguarding confidential records per FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act). Training in use of computer systems to assure that accurate data bases of student records are maintained. Knowledge of general academic policies and procedures related to higher education. Knowledge of Banner student information system required. Experience with computers and ability to manage time and completing priorities and deadlines.
Associate Degree and one year relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
TYPICAL EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field is preferred.
Assignment Information: Term, full-time, nonexempt, 11 months per year, Grade 77, minimum $23.54 hourly, DOE, position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.
