As a Student Assistant, you will be responsible for working closely with students, staff, faculty and community members in creating and maintaining an atmosphere that promotes respectful dialogue around topics such as diversity, inclusion, prevention (alcohol/drug misuse, suicide, and power-based violence) and wellness.
100 Program Support
Plan, market, and facilitate activities and events for NDAC such as awareness campaigns, guest speakers, film screenings, book clubs, and more
Help coordinate Green Dot, QPR, and Safe Zone efforts on campus
Help organize and manage the Wood Center Food Pantry as requested.
Serve as a member of the Nanook Diversity and Action Council. This may include creating meeting agendas, taking meeting notes, and following up with Council Members. NDAC Student Assistants may be asked to serve on additional leadership boards or committees.
Data Entry and Administrative Support
Data entry, answering phone calls, responding to emails, maintaining databases, assisting in writing reports, and more
Social Media and Internet Presence
Help maintain NDAC’s email, Nanook Engage, social media, and/or website
Other Duties as Assigned
Work closely with other areas of the Center for Student Engagement and collaborate with other campus and community partners Essential
Telephone and interpersonal communication skills; organizational skills; familiarity with basic computer applications; ability to maintain confidentiality. Must give a favorable impression to the public in appearance and behavior; adapt to changes in workload; work independently with limited supervision and in cooperation with other employees; possess attention to detail/organizational skills, be able to multitask and handle difficult/stressful situations with diplomacy and finesse.

Typical Education or Training: Must be a student enrolled in at least 6 credits and have a 2.0 GPA.

This is a Student Assistant C; minimum starting pay $11.00
Applicant must be enrolled as a UAF student taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student.
