Position Summary:

Based in Dillingham, AK, this position is the front office supervisor. Responsibilities include managing part-time office staff and providing general support to faculty, staff, and students. Provide direct assistance to the director, coordinate and support special events such as graduation and campus council meetings, and market classes/programs online and in print. Coordinate facility use and exam proctoring. Make deposits and financial reports. Requires knowledge of UA regulations and guidelines.


40Under the direction and supervision of the director, duties will include but are not limited to; assisting the director with maintenance of calendar/schedule/travel, supervision and coordination of special functions, development of front office procedures, coordination of activities with internal and external customers, arrange special conferences and meetings, coordinate the use of the facilities and services, troubleshoot and resolve special situations that may arise, and organize and maintain filing systems while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. Provide assistance to the director in gathering and disseminating information as related to grant reports. Provide professional assistance in the implementation of campus changes and procedures as well as ensure compliance with rules, regulations, processes, policies and procedures of UAF.Essential
60Train, manage, and evaluate all front office staff. This position will provide front office support as needed to staff, faculty, and students in addition to answering phones and directing calls as needed. The front office supervisor will provide assistance to departments, staff, and faculty in the gathering and dissemination of student related functions such as registration, proctoring tests, providing student support, faxing, mailing, etc. This position will do marketing for the front office as well as work with all departments to ensure marketing is being done and with accuracy. This position will provide assistance to the with clerical support as needed as well as provide support to other coordinators as needed.Essential


Applicant is required to have excellent communication, customer service, organizational, supervisory and facilitation skills. Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to multitask in an active environment. Must have knowledge of and the ability to operate all modern office equipment. Must have marketing experience. Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Experience:*
AA or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in the University of Alaska system or post-secondary experience preferred. Preferred experience working in rural Alaska.

Required Experience: Three years progressively responsible office/administrative experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Education or Training: High School graduation or equivalent.

This is a full-time, Salary: $27.42/hr, DOE (this rate includes the 27% geographic differential) 12-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.
