Help maintain online Intro to Distance Education course in Blackboard. Create and deliver in-person and virtual trainings and/or presentations on distance education services and technologies that support students in distance education programs/courses. Work closely with the AI&e Instructional Design team to identify and create support materials for students. Work and coordinate with IDS Manager and student workers to create and offer in person workshops and support resources. Essential
40 Student Services and Support:
Provide telephone/email customer service support for distance education services and provides in-depth responses to inquiries regarding distance education and its processes for faculty, staff, students, and the public. Advise students in policies and procedures, processes, and requirements for distance delivered courses. Refer students to appropriate service centers to meet needs such as financial aid, tutorial support, testing services, academic advisers, and other support services. Assist with the daily operations of the eLearning testing center to include coverage, as needed. Mediate and resolve student and/or faculty conflicts when appropriate. Essential

Research and remain current on new trends in distance education via individual efforts, campus-wide collaboration, and participation in departmental training and national conferences. Collect and participate in analyzing UA Distance Education data. Essential
The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), Alaska's largest university with 20,000 students in over 190-degree programs, invites applications for the position eLearning Student Success Coordinator, Within Academic Innovations & eLearning (AI&e). AI&e supports the UAA learning environment by fostering quality instructional practices, innovations, and technologies. The AI&e team consists of instructional designers, developers, multimedia specialists, and student support personnel. We support faculty and students in eLearning, ePortfolio, Robust Online Learning Programs, and provide professional development opportunities for all of UAA and our rural campuses.
As part of the eLearning team, the
Student Success Coordinator will consult and work with team members to support workshops and virtual training for technology used in online courses. Work with team members to create student, faculty, and the public facing content and communication material. Provide customer service support for distance education services and provides in-depth responses to procedures, processes, and requirements for distance delivered courses. Refer students to appropriate service centers to meet needs such as financial aid, tutorial support, testing services, academic advisers, and other support services. Assist with the daily operations of the eLearning testing services . Mediate and resolve student and/or faculty conflicts when appropriate.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, work well in a team setting and also independently. Knowledge of Student Services and UA policies, and problem solving skills, are essential.
proficient in typical office procedures (email, phones, fax) as well as programs (i.e. Microsoft Suite); customer service skills, ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing; knowledge of Blackboard;
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Associate’s degree and two years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
This is a full-time,
Grade 77, minimum $21.59 hourly, DOE, 12-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.
