Position Summary:

Our School of Arts and Sciences Department of Natural Sciences is seeking a Research Technician for academic and some research lab set up and field work. The candidate will be assisting faculty with setting up and maintaining lab supplies for GEOL, ENVS, and PHYS courses. Duties:

Position Summary:

Our School of Arts and Sciences Department of Natural Sciences is seeking a Research Technician for academic and some research lab set up and field work.  The candidate will be assisting faculty with setting up and maintaining lab supplies for GEOL, ENVS, and PHYS courses. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Good writing and interpersonal skills
• Good leadership skills and motivated to succeed with projects; lead to coordinate several
  related evaluation projects with other research professionals
• Ability to manipulate data to produce charts, graphs, and tables
• Knowledge to manipulate data to produce charts, graphs, and tables

Required Experience:

  • Lab preparation for ENVS, GEOG, GEOL, and PHYS labs
  • Experience in research/evaluation activities
  • At least one year of field-related research experience in Alaska or equivalent

Typical Education or Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Biology, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, and Ecology).
  • One year of experience in environmental research, GIS analysis, data management or field support.
