The Kuskokwim Campus is seeking a financial aid coordinator to provide support to our students who are seeking higher education!
10 Track and enter student financial aid and enrollment information. Essential
15 Explore new sources of student financial support; confer and meet with agencies.
Occasional travel to villages. Essential
15 Publicize and inform students individually regarding financial aid requirements, deadlines, and rules; conduct financial aid workshops in Bethel, selected villages, or through the KuC website, Facebook, and coordinate financial aid events such as FAFSA Frenzy. Essential
5 Coordinate closely with KuC Students Services, UAF Financial Aid, and federal and regional funding and sources. Essential
55 Assist students in accessing financial aid information and services and develop a funding plan for students receiving financial aid. Essential
This position provides support for Student Services and Student Development workforce activities for the Kuskokwim Campus. This position produces reviews and maintains student-related documents pertaining to Financial Aid. Assists with student outreach efforts. Organizes Financial Aid workshops. Provides statistics concerning student financial aid along with various student progress reports for the KuC Assistant Director. Advise KuC students, parents, agencies and the general public on financial aid opportunities and issues.
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population. Knowledge of FAFSA and federal, state and other program scholarship, grant and student loan regulations. Excellent interpersonal skills and intermediate level of computer competency, positive attitude, strong sense of initiative and well-developed leadership/team building, public speaking and communication skills. Planning and organizational skills
required. An ability to interpret and apply policies and processes consistently is critical. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and work effectively under highly stressful conditions. Preferred: Familiarity with the UA Banner database. Knowledge of rural Alaska issues, experience living and working in rural Alaska. Yup'ik speaker preferred.
2 years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. At least one year experience in a financial aid office.
TYPICAL EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, business or related field and or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

This is a part-time,
Grade 78, minimum $32.57/hr, DOE, 11-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.
