The Alaska and Polar Regions Collections and Archives located in the Rasmuson Library is looking for an Archives Student Assistant. Positions assist staff with daily operations of archives. Up to 20 hours per week, to be arranged between Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Alaska and Polar Regions Collections and Archives is one of the premier research facilities focused on the arctic, subarctic and antarctic regions.  Various units of the department contain the book, newspaper, and journal collections; oral history; archival films; rare books and maps; historical collections; and the historically significant records of the University of Alaska Fairbanks. This person will be working primarily in the historical collections section of the archives.  This section concentrates on Alaska, especially the northern sections.  It contains personal, business, organizational, and other papers.  A highlight of the collection is the more than one million historical photographs. The archives serves local researchers and students, genealogists, and researchers visiting from other parts of Alaska, the United States, and from around the world.
