PWSC Resident Assistant 2022-2023 Valdez
Resident Assistants (RAs) are an integral part of the Campus Life Community environment, serving as paraprofessional members of the Residence Life staff. Each RA is personally responsible for 10-20 residents in an assigned living area. These paraprofessional staff members are charged with creating an open, inviting, inclusive, and safe living environment for residents - one that is conducive to student learning as well as social development and community engagement.
Student Assistant -ARLIS Grant Projects Anchorage
The Alaska Resources Library & Information Services (ARLIS) is the library of eight federal, state, and University resource management agencies. It co-located with the Consortium Library but separately managed. ARLIS provides a major natural and cultural resources information collection utilized by public resource management agencies, private industry, environmental groups, students, faculty, and the general public. This job offers the convenience of working on campus and the flexibility of working around your classes. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Principal responsibilities include scanning documents and physically preparing library materials to go onto the library shelves by applying property stamps, security strips, and labels; binding and mending books and unpublished papers; and performing special maintenance for delicate and unusual materials. Other duties may include boxing, unboxing, or sorting library materials; checking for duplicates; shelving and shifting of materials using the Library of Congress call number system; putting items in date or alphabetical order; assisting in database cleanup; filing; photocopying; printing from microfiche; scanning microfiche and microfilm; discarding books tagged for withdrawal and recycling; retrieving items from shelves; and other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: The library assistant must be a University of Alaska student, enrolled and regularly attending six (6) or more credit hours and must possess a 2.0 or better cumulative grade point average (CGPA). The library assistant must be able to work 10 - 20 hours per week within the overall time frame of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
