A Resident Advisor (RA) is a live-in paraprofessional staff member that serves as a positive leader and peer role model within the Housing and greater campus community. This position is expected to be placed within the main housing complex. The focus of this position is planning, implementing, and maintaining the University of Alaska Data Warehouse, in coordination with other data warehousing staff. 2022-2023 Writing Center Student Tutor Pool Juneau
The Writing Center is seeking student writing tutors to work with UAS students. The job requires solid writing skills and the ability to coach students through all stages of the writing process, though we do provide training with our "grow-a-tutor" model. Perfect writing is not required, but a strong foundation and a willingness to learn are. A student tutor position is a great opportunity to improve mentoring skills, learn about tutoring/teaching strategies, and gain professional work experience. Student tutors are also involved in special projects run by the Writing Center such as writing contests and the publication of the in-house academic journal, Summit.
