PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Principal responsibilities include scanning documents and physically preparing library materials to go onto the library shelves by applying property stamps, security strips, and labels; binding and mending books and unpublished papers; and performing special maintenance for delicate and unusual materials. Other duties may include boxing, unboxing, or sorting library materials; checking for duplicates; shelving and shifting of materials using the Library of Congress call number system; putting items in date or alphabetical order; assisting in database cleanup; filing; photocopying; printing from microfiche; scanning microfiche and microfilm; discarding books tagged for withdrawal and recycling; retrieving items from shelves; and other duties as assigned.The library assistant must be a University of Alaska student, enrolled and regularly attending six (6) or more credit hours and must possess a 2.0 or better cumulative grade point average (CGPA). The library assistant must be able to work 10 - 20 hours per week within the overall time frame of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Director, Student Health and Counseling Center Anchorage
