Be an Upward Bound Instructor to use your summer helping youth achieve a new level of success. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of post-secondary education. Upward Bound includes a six-week summer program held on the UAF campus for selected students from 10 Upward Bound target high schools. Individuals with appropriate education and teaching experience are hired to provide academic instruction during the summer program in the areas of mathematics, language arts, science, foreign language and other elective class subject areas.
