Accounting Services is a department within UAA's Financial Services division, responsible for student accounting and other receivables for UAA. The Disbursements & Agency team within Accounting Services manages and disburses various types of student financial aid including Federal, State, and other public and private sources of funds, ensuring adherence to regulations and providing support to other campus departments. The Disbursements & Agency office serves over 11,000 students receiving various aid and refund types each semester at both Anchorage and the community campuses.

Senior Systems Engineer Fairbanks
The University of Alaska is seeking a candidate to join our OIT Systems Engineering Team. Our mission is to protect, provide for, and progress the software and systems behind many of the University of Alaska's services. Like many system admins, we keep important, critical systems up and running despite bandwidth outages and configuration errors. However, the team also develops new products including, full-stack web applications, simulators, distributed data migrations, and next-gen monitoring to name a few. Not only do we have fun projects like that, but our regular workday involves a lot of DevOps practices and Lean IT processes. We also manage thousands of computers (all University-owned computers, laptops, and tablets), package our own installers, manage the licensing for University-owned software, as well as the servers and infrastructure for many of the University's services.
Gift Manager Anchorage
The University of Alaska Foundation (UA Foundation) seeks an individual to process UAA and UAS’ daily donations (and backup for the other campuses). The number of donations per week can range from 150-300, depending on the time of year. In addition to depositing and processing donations, this position also works with UAA and UAS departments on proper donation acceptance methods. The Director of Fund & Gift Services in Anchorage and this position handle coverage for the office to ensure it is staffed for donation acceptance. The position also assists in processing calendar year end donations during the winter holiday break. Additionally, this position assists in the pick up of gifts at the UAA Development office on-campus (the UA Foundation Anchorage office is off-campus) and at the University Center. Therefore, the successful candidate must have access to a vehicle, a valid driver's license, and have the ability to run errands within the Anchorage city limits.
Academic Advisor I Fairbanks
Do you enjoy working one-on-one with students in a collaborative relationship to help foster and support student success? Academic advisors focus on a student-centered approach that enriches student learning and development in preparation for success during their academic career and beyond. The UAF Academic Advising Center (AAC), a unit of the Division of General Studies, is recruiting a full-time 9-month non-exempt position Academic Advisor. The Academic Advisor is supervised by the AAC Director. The AAC serves General Studies (undeclared), Pre-Major (Bachelor-Intended), Interdisciplinary students, and declared students exploring other majors and career options. The AAC also serves student-athletes, students exploring graduate and professional schools, as well as students who are non-degree seeking or academically disqualified. Using established guidelines, the Academic Advisor works with students to develop relevant, meaningful, and timely education plans. This entry-level academic advising position is at the front line of working with students and must be able to answer inquiries from students, staff, faculty, and the public concerning academic advising and student success. Strict confidentiality of student academic and employment information and adherence to FERPA regulations is required. The Academic Advisor aids and assists students by acting as an information specialist, and must be able to adapt to changing conditions and learn new and revised policies and procedures quickly. In addition to advising students, the Academic Advisor may be required to present student success workshops on a variety of topics related to study skills and university navigation. The Academic Advisor also provides guidance on grade appeals, financial aid appeals, academic petitions, and transfer credit policies. Professional development is encouraged and supported at the AAC.
