Position Summary:

UAF's Community and Technical College is looking for part-time instructors / adjunct faculty to instruct and advise students. As an adjunct faculty you will help prepare graduates to work in occupations that keep our communities running and safe and be instrumental in making Alaska a better place to live, work, learn and recreate. Duties:

100- The incumbent will be responsible for teaching one or more undergraduate courses in a manner consistent with UAF Faculty Senate guidelines and the specific course catalog description. - Adjunct faculty are expected to participate annually in scheduled mandatory initial organization or orientation meetings and are required to complete UAF mandatory trainings within the specified period of time. - Duties may include instructing, advising, and assessing/grading students in the identified subject matter in alignment with UAF policies and procedures and direction from faculty program coordinators. - Duties may include developing a course outline, syllabus, teaching materials, and tests or other assessment methods consistent with UAF policies and procedures.Essential
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their academic preparation, past teaching experience, and potential for providing high quality instruction to undergraduate students.

Expertise and experience relevant to the effective teaching of the specific subject areas.

Some departments or programs may require a minimum degree, license or certification in the subject matter.

Salary Information:

This is a temporary faculty position.  Minimum salaries are based on the number of semesters taught at the University of Alaska and are established by the UNAD Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.

UAF CTC employs a diverse population of approximately 35 full-time faculty and 200 adjunct faculty who are represented by two unions and a staff of about 35. Approximately 3000 students attend UAF CTC. They are culturally diverse and include many non-traditional students and students from the military community.

This is an at-will, union represented adjunct position, and may be canceled based upon the needs of the university.
