Position Summary:

Are you looking to share your industry knowledge and skills with students interested in learning? Our Fire Science program is actively recruiting for skilled and certified technical program assistants to support our Fire Science Program and Summer Fire Academy. Join our team of technical program assistants and help educate and train today's students for tomorrow's workforce!

Duties:

100Typical functions in support of the program including: preparation of skills stations, assisting with instruction of State of Alaska FFI skills sheets, maintenance of equipment and other duties as needed.Essential
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Firefighter I certification (or higher), or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of technical area of expertise, experience sufficient to perform the duties required by the program.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Computer and software application skills may be required.
  • Ability to work with students from diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Experience & Education:
1 year technical experience.
Required Experience & Education:

Educational / vocational experience in subject area sufficient to perform the typical duties as required by department head and or program coordinator.

Salary Information:

This is a temporary, non-exempt, part time position.  Minimum compensation is $18.74 per hour, final rate is dependent upon education and experience.
