Electric Vehicles in the Arctic (EVITA) brings together researchers, tribal community partners, electric utilities, and vocational programs in Kotzebue and Galena, Alaska, to understand how EVs can be integrated in remote Arctic communities to improve resilience and promote energy justice.

An ideal candidate would enroll in a masters of public policy (MPP) at the University of Alaska Anchorage and have a passion for community- driven research. Other graduate programs may be acceptable. This person would participate in workshops, surveys, and interviews. The goal is to increase our understanding of vehicle use, determine the feasibility of EVs, and identify policies that might help facilitate the integration of EVs. Desired candidates should have an interest in qualitative and quantitative skills, live in Anchorage, AK for the two years of the research assistantship, and be willing to travel.

This will be a research assistantship position so it will be for two years and include tuition, medical coverage, and pay $21/hr with 20 hours a week during the academic year and 40 hours/week during the summer. Based in Anchorage, AK.

Salary Information:

This is a graduate student position. New hires will be placed on the ACEP graduate student payscale based on education achieved.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This position will be physically located at the UAF campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. The successful finalist will be expected to report to duty at the UAF office on the first day of employment.
