Position Summary:
Are you a student with a positive attitude looking for a flexible semester or summer job? The College of Engineering and Mines and the Institute of Northern Engineering will be hiring on an as needed basis for various departments for the 2022/2023 academic year.
Duties:
100Works under general direction. Exercises independent judgment and decision-making in developing new procedures or techniques. May involve supervision of other student employees. Examples of typical work include: performing complex computer programming, network operations or troubleshooting; advance technical computer maintenance; research, writing or assisting in writing technical reports; assisting in complex technical aspects of complex projects. May be responsible for a facility, building, activity, or program. May coordinate the use of equipment, building space, or programs.Essential
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: |
Working knowledge of software such as Word, Excel and database applications with the ability to perform data searches using the internet. Ability to pay close attention to detail, works in an organized manner, follow instructions and work without close supervision. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and security of all information. Demonstrated knowledge of general office procedures and practices. Must possess basic clerical skills including accurate typing and filing, and have strong organizational skills. Must be familiar with office equipment (fax, copiers, calculators, personal computers). Must be able to type at an acceptable speed with a high rate of accuracy. Must be able to deal with public cordially and tactfully, adequate communication skills required. |
Preferred Experience & Education: |
Ability to follow written and oral instructions, file alphabetically, learn office procedures, filing systems and operation of standard office machines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with multiple tasks.

Required Experience & Education: |
Must be enrolled as a UAF student taking a minimum of 6 credits, with minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student. Drivers license preferred.

The posting is designed to aid the College of Engineering and Mines and the Institute of Northern Engineering departments in filling a need for assistance on a part-time, temporary basis.
