Position Summary:

Perform HLRM program support tasks including recruitment, data entry, travel and course/event logistics, scheduling, making phone calls, and creating promotional flyers.

Duties:

30Faculty and Program Support *Provide assistance to HLRM faculty. *Work with supervisor and partner personnel to manage details for classes and outreach events, to include travel logistics and research/site preparation. *Coordinate HLRM program planning meetings to review and assess goals of the program. *Develop partnerships with campus partners and attend regular campus student support meetings.Essential
30Program Recruitment & Outreach *In partnership with ongoing NWC outreach efforts, create and implement an HLRM program outreach strategy, including coordination of events, student engagement and travel logistics. *In collaboration with supervisor and/or NWC staff, create promotional materials for HLRM classes, workshops and events *Provide recruitment and promotion efforts for the HLRM program. Travel (both within region, in community and elsewhere as necessary) to present opportunities and information regarding HLRM program.Essential
40Student Support *Inform and communicate opportunities and information about HLRM program. *Provide direct support to students during course enrollment. *Maintain and update all student records for HLRM program. Track degree pursuit and student interest. *Work in collaboration with Northwest Campus student support staff to identify and create HLRM student support strategies, success initiatives and a strong HLRM degree presence in the region.Essential

UAF-Northwest Campus is looking for a part-time employee to perform HLRM program support tasks including recruitment, data entry, travel and course/event logistics, scheduling, making phone calls, and creating promotional flyers.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: -Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working in rural Alaska
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Experience working with local/regional herders is preferred.
-Experience in promotion and recruiting.
-Demonstrated skills in coordination and supporting students.
-Basic knowledge of computer operations and software applications.
-Problem-solving/decision-making skills.
Typical Experience:
Two years college course work and one year experience related to natural resources management or an equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred.
Required Education or Training:

Two years college course work and one year experience related to natural resources management or an equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred.

Salary Information:

This is a part-time, 4-month, temporary non-exempt staff position. New hires will be placed on the UA temporary staff salary schedule, Grade 34_77, based on education and experience.
