Position Summary:

The UAA Department of Health, Physical Education & Recreation, Dietetics & Nutrition, and Therapy Programs is hiring a Student Worker to assist Program Support Staff with administrative and general office duties. This is an on campus front facing position.

Duties:

100Assist Program Support Staff with general office duties, event planning, and program support needs. Greet and direct students and visitors to appropriate destination. Provide access to HPER library, answer phones. Receive deliveries and assist with laundry pick up, drop off, and receipts. Assist with restocking supplies, event planning, and other administrative duties.Essential

Summary of School of Allied Health:
The School of Allied Health at the University of Alaska Anchorage is one of the largest divisions within the College of Health and encompasses the following programs: Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting, Fire and Emergency Services, Pharmacy Technology,Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Science, Physical Therapist Assistant, Dietetics& Nutrition, Surgical Technology, Occupational Therapy as well as Health, Physical Education and Recreation.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to demonstrate confidentiality, professionalism, and punctuality.
  • Ability to proofread and write with proficiency.
  • Ability to use computer programs.
  • Ability to show attention to detail and timeliness in completion of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to use general office equipment.
  • Ability to work in a front-facing on campus position.

Experience:
Prior work in retail, hospitality, or office setting preferred.

Education/Training:
High School diploma or GED and enrolled in UA System

Eligibility:
To be eligible for student employment an applicant must:

a) Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment, or
b) Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and
c) Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA), be in good academic standing, or have approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer or his/her designee.
d) An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.

Acceptance into the pool does not constitute an offer of employment.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position will be required to work at the Anchorage campus.  This is not a remote position.

Hourly Rate: $11.34
