Position Summary:

Duties:

1-50GENERAL RECEPTION and CLERICAL DUTIES: Receiving, screening, assisting with and directing phone customers to proper destinations. Receiving and distributing materials for/from students, faculty and staff E.G. registration forms, student assignments. CLERICAL DUTIES: faxing, provide clerical support, including maintaining office supplies, assisting faculty and staff, copying, and mail-room duties.Essential
20FACILITATING OPERATION OF CAMPUS: Maintain awareness of campus spaces. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Inform supervisor of any building/janitorial needs they come across. Assist with organizing and monitoring bulletin boards, general upkeep.Essential
30ASSIST/FACILITATE COMPLETION OF CAMPUS PROJECTS: Marketing of courses, creating flyers and brochures. Campus inventory of office equipment and supplies.Essential

The College of Rural and Community Development is recruiting for part-time temporary support for those interested in performing general reception and clerical duties.  The schedule includes daytime needs but most time slots needing coverage are in the evenings or weekends.

This temporary campus facilitator job posting is unique as multiple campuses within the College of Rural and Community Development may be hiring from this pool of applicants. The posting is designed to aid in filling an unexpected vacancy or an urgent need on a part-time or full-time, temporary basis. This position will be responsible for performing general reception and clerical duties.  The schedule includes daytime needs but most time slots needing coverage are in the evenings or weekends. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

•Knowledge of professional-level office methods and practices.
•Organization principles.
•Basic knowledge of computer operations and software applications.
•Knowledge of purchasing procedures.
•Ability to arrange travel.
•Ability to perform inventory.
•Problem-solving/decision-making skills.
•Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
•Ability to perform basic clerical support through the performance of tasks; such as filing, tracking information, sorting mail, copying documents, and serving as a receptionist.
•Knowledge of basic phone skills.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

Six months of office/administrative experience or a combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

High School diploma and six months of office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

This position varies in salary based on the position and duties hired for, Temp salary scale Grade 74 ($14.37/hr). Please note the following regions have a geographic differential that will be incorporated into the final salary amount:

  • Bethel (38%)
  • Dillingham, Aleutian Islands, Adak, Sand Point, Bristol Bay (27%)
  • Additional locations might have applicable geographic differential and the appropriate hiring authority will discuss this upon a request to offer.
