Position Summary:

Chukchi Campus/UAF is looking for a part time temporary assistant to care for the native plant and demonstration gardens throughout the summer season. Work includes watering, weeding, harvesting, and other duties as needed.

Duties:

100Assist with operation and maintenance of Chukchi native plant and demonstration gardens, for example, planting, weeding, watering, landscaping, outreach, volunteer coordination, coordination of related education and community activities and other duties as assigned.Essential

Hours: Up to 30 hours per pay period (2-weeks)

Salary: $20.18/hr, DOE

Education: High school diploma preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

•Openness to learn about different types of plants, where they grow best, and how to care for them
•Enjoys being outdoors in various conditions of weather
•Basic problem solving skills
•Ability to adapt to new situations
•Ability to work both independently and with a team
