Are you a student with a positive attitude looking for a flexible semester or summer job? The College of Engineering and Mines and the Institute of Northern Engineering will be hiring on an as needed basis for various departments for the 2022/2023 academic year.
The posting is designed to aid the College of Engineering and Mines and the Institute of Northern Engineering departments in filling a need for assistance on a part-time, temporary basis. The successful applicants will provide various types of support including confidential filing, photocopying, data entry, research, etc. May also perform special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of software such as Word, Excel and database applications with the ability to perform data searches using the internet. Ability to pay close attention to detail, works in an organized manner, follow instructions and work without close supervision. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and security of all information. Demonstrated knowledge of general office procedures and practices. Must possess basic clerical skills including accurate typing and filing, and have strong organizational skills. Must be familiar with office equipment (fax, copiers, calculators, personal computers). Must be able to type at an acceptable speed with a high rate of accuracy. Must be able to deal with public cordially and tactfully, adequate communication skills required.
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
Ability to follow written and oral instructions, file alphabetically, learn office procedures, filing systems and operation of standard office machines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with multiple tasks.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
Must be enrolled as a UAF student taking a minimum of 6 credits, with minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student. Drivers license preferred.
