The Office of Admissions Admissions Processing team is hiring a Student Assistant. This position will assist the Admissions Manager and Coordinators in everyday operations that ensure a smooth UAF Admissions process.
The ideal candidate is an energetic and dependable professional who possesses good written and oral communication skills and is familiar with general office procedures, can adjust to change, and has the ability to multitask, problem-solve, prioritize, and complete projects by a given deadline. Professional telephone skills, attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, desire to work independently and in a team, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are all qualities we are looking for in our applicants.
After initial training, the candidate must be able to work with little supervision and accept a high level of responsibility. A moderate level of computer literacy is desired: experience using Microsoft Office, Gmail, google apps and database management programs is necessary.
This is a part-time offering that works with your schedule. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and this position allows up to 20 working hours per week while school is in session. Additional hours may be available during summer and winter breaks. This position's starting pay is $12.00 per hour.
This recruitment is open to current students of the University of Alaska. All applicants must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA and maintain enrollment in at least 6 undergraduate credit hours, or 6 graduate credit hours for student employment during the academic year.
