Position Summary:

The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Department of Athletics is currently seeking Student Content Coordinators (Marketing and Events). The UAA Department of Athletics, located in the Alaska Airlines Center and the Seawolf Sports Complex, is committed to building and supporting a diverse division focused first and foremost of assisting all Seawolf student-athletes in meeting their academic and athletic goals and preparing each for entering the work force and making a positive contribution to her/his community following their years at UAA. Duties:

100Assist with game day scripting, marketing, and promotions utilizing public address, video board and music to ensure sponsorship activation, in-game features, and brand integration. Assist with campus appearances to promote Seawolf Athletics. Assist with Donor stewardship activities and events, and execution of fundraising initiatives. Assist in creation sponsorship packages and participate in new business meetings. Assist with season ticket renewals and initiating new sales opportunities. Assist with Athletics Social Media and Strategic Communications. Assist with graphic design and content creation in support of Athletics Marketing and Communications. Participate in organized education and networking sessions with sports industry professionals when available. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor, Senior Associate/Associate Directors and/or the Director of Athletics.Essential

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Excellent organizational skills required. Knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram required.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently as well as work in a team environment. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and/or occasional holidays.

Typical Experience

No prior experience is required for this position.

Required Education or Training

UA Safe Title IX completed training or completion of training within 30 days of the job start date.

Behavior Based Safety (BBS) completed training or completion of training within 30 days of the job start date.

Workplace Harassment Prevention completed training or completion of training within 30 days of the job start date.

To be eligible for student employment at UAA, a student must:
a. be enrolled in the university system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or
b. for employment between semesters, have successfully completed six or more UA credit hours in the preceding semester and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester; and
c. not work hours which interfere with class attendance; and
d. have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.

Type of Employment
 
This is a student position and is restricted to no more than 20 hours per week while taking classes. Students may work between semesters if they successfully completed six credits or more the previous semester and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester. Students working in between semesters may be eligible to work up to 40 hours per week.
 
Hourly Rate  $10.50/hour minimum
