Position Summary:

UAF's Community and Technical College is currently seeking experienced, dedicated and motivated adjunct faculty / part-time instructors for our Emergency Services program. Duties:

100Adjunct faculty help provide the advanced level of patient care training that our students and partners have come to expect from UAF. Responsibilities of this position include creating an innovative and engaging learning environment for students, assisting in curriculum development and skills development of students. - Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching one or more undergraduate courses in a manner consistent with UAF Faculty Senate guidelines and the specific course catalog description. - Duties include instructing, advising, and assessing/grading students in the identified subject matter in alignment with UAF policies and procedures and direction from faculty program coordinators. - Duties include developing a course outline, syllabus, teaching materials, and tests or other assessment methods consistent with UAF policies and procedures. - Adjunct faculty are expected to participate annually in scheduled mandatory initial organization or orientation meetings and are required to complete UAF mandatory trainings within the specified period of time.Essential

Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their academic preparation, past teaching experience, and potential for providing high quality instruction to undergraduate students. Alaska EMS Instructor Certificate is required. Expertise and experience relevant to the effective teaching of the specific subject areas is also required.

Staff and faculty have forged close ties with businesses and local agencies, enhancing instruction and increasing job placements.  UAF CTC offers classes at 9 locations throughout Fairbanks and the Tanana Valley of Interior Alaska. Classes are taught at various locations (including online) and can meet during the daytime, evenings, and/or weekends.

UAF CTC employs a diverse population of approximately 30 full-time faculty and 300 adjunct faculty who are represented by two unions and a staff of about 30. Approximately 3000 students attend UAF CTC. They are culturally diverse and include many non-traditional students and students from the military community.  

Adjunct faculty may be eligible for tuition waivers for themselves or family members.

Flexible schedules are available.

Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester contract basis.
