Position Summary:

Interested in working at Kenai Peninsula College/Kenai River Campus? We have a variety of Student Assistant B and C positions available throughout the academic year. Great student employment positions come available throughout the year in a variety of departments including academic departments, maintenance, student services, business office, and others. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as need arises. Kenai Peninsula College maintains a yearly pool of temporary employees for departments to call upon when needed. These positions are located at the Kenai River campus in Soldotna and Kachemak Bay campus in Homer. 100Student Assistant B: Works under general or intermittent supervision. Duties are varied and require some independent judgment. Decision-making may be required in the minor revision of standard judgment. Typically requires previous training and experience (e.g., one year). Some college or comparable experience may be necessary. May require mechanical or technical ability/knowledge. Examples of typical work include: coordinating activities for a function or project; advance office/administrative duties; maintaining computer equipment; basic computer programming; assisting a skilled crafts or tradesperson. Student Assistant C: Works under general direction. Duties require considerable knowledge and skills. Exercises independent judgment and decision-making in developing new procedures or techniques. May involve supervision of other student employees. Examples of typical work include: performing complex computer programming, network operations or troubleshooting; advance technical computer maintenance; research, writing or assisting in writing technical reports; assisting in complex technical aspects of complex projects. May be responsible for a facility, building, activity, or program. May coordinate the use of equipment, building space, or programsEssential


Must have the ability for attention to detail, possess organizational skills, and be able to articulate and communicate effectively.
Must have an understanding of handling confidential information.
Preferred ability to work independently.
May require additional knowledge, skills, and abilities based on the KPC department's needs.


May require some previous training, experience and/or knowledge based on the KPC department's needs.


Applicant must be a University of Alaska student, enrolled and regularly attending six (6) or more credit hours and must possess a 2.0 or better cumulative grade point average (CGPA).
May require additional education and training based on the KPC department's needs.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as need arises in a Kenai River Campus/KPC department. Working dates, hours, hourly wage to be determined by department supervisors.

This is a pooled position and applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis.  The successful submission of an application does not guarantee employment.

Student employment B hourly wage: $10.34  per hour, based on education, skills, and experience.
Student employment C hourly wage: $10.50 per hour, based on education, skills, and experience.
