Position Summary:

The Department of Recreation, Adventure and Wellness is looking for outgoing and fun students to join our team as Intramural Referees! UAF Nanook Recreation, located in the Student Recreation Center (SRC), is a diverse division designed to provide all UAF students the opportunity for physical development on the Fairbanks campus. Come join our team! Starting Pay at $12.00 p/hr.

Duties:

The Department of Recreation, Adventure and Wellness is looking for outgoing and fun students to join our team as Intramural Referees!  We offer basketball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, hockey, broomball, flag football and volleyball & more!  We are looking for individuals who enjoy the sports and want to create a great atmosphere in the world of Intramurals.  Learn to referee and manage games with this student job. Please visit Nanook Recreation to find out more.
 
Games are held Mon-Thurs late evenings (7pm-midnight), and Sunday mornings and evenings.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Good communication skills. Knowledge of rules for various team sports.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

Some sports knowledge is helpful.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

Enjoy sports or games, recreational activities.
To be eligible for student employment at UA, a student must:
a. be enrolled in the university system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or
b. for employment between semesters, have successfully completed six or more UA credit hours in the preceding semester and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester; and
c. not work hours which interfere with class attendance; and
d. have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
