Duties:

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Knowledge of office practices and procedures; excellent writing, spelling, punctuation and grammar for correspondence and reports. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently; attention to detail; determine priorities; meet multiple deadlines and have basic fiscal skills. Previous experience working with the public. Ability to operate a multi-line phone system. Knowledge of professional level office methods and practices. Organization principles. Knowledge of purchasing procedures. Ability to arrange travel. Ability to perform inventory. Problem-solving/decision-making skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Candidate must have demonstrated proficiency with MS products (Excel, MS Word) and various e-mail clients, ability to use computer scheduling programs, websites/Internet Explorer and ability to send and download electronic documents through the Internet.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

6 months to 3 years office/administrative experience or equivalent. Experience working with the public.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

High school diploma or equivalent.

 

This temporary clerical job posting is unique as multiple campuses within the College of Rural and Community Development may be hiring from this pool of applicants. The posting is designed to aid in filling an unexpected vacancy or an urgent need on a part-time or full-time, temporary basis. If you are interested in the opportunity to gain university experience and to work in a temporary position that will be performing administrative type duties, please apply to this job posting. Duties include the monitoring of (occasional) Saturday (approx. 6 hours) of Praxis testing. Work one or more weeknights a week. 4:30 - 10 PM.

This position varies in salary based on the position and duties hired for, Temp salary scale Grade 74 ($14.37/hr) to Grade 75 ($16.15/hr). Please note the following regions have a geographic differential that will be incorporated into the final salary amount:

  • Bethel (38%)
  • Dillingham, Aleutian Islands, Adak, Sand Point, Bristol Bay (27%)
  • Additional locations might have applicable geographic differential and the appropriate hiring authority will discuss this upon a request to offer.
