Position Summary:

UAA Information Technology Services is seeking a highly qualified individual to join our Web/Applications Team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in web development using technologies such as C#, PHP, and SQL Server. The Web/Applications Team is responsible for managing the University’s content management and learning management systems, integrating with 3rd party software, and creating and maintaining custom applications for use across campus. Develop and maintain monitoring and alerts for all Web/Apps related critical servers and systems using the department’s centralized monitoring system. Troubleshoot outages and restore systems and services as quickly as possible.Essential
40Develop, analyze, test, implement and maintain a student dashboard for current and admitted students serving all UAA campuses. Take graphic design mock ups and feature requirements and turn them into a live student dashboard to further student success. Work with Web Advisory Committee and AD of Student Web Experience on priorities of features and addressing various systems and internal business rules. Responsible for the development and maintenance of documentation, reference guides, manuals, training materials related to supported applications.Essential
50This position is primarily focused on priorities defined by the Web Advisory Committee and the Associate Director of Student Web Experience. Provide design, development, operational and administrative support for scripts, databases, content streaming and applications. Analyze, design, test, implement, maintain and document user-oriented content management, learning management and other core packaged and custom application systems; ensure systems provide high availability, accuracy and security. Maintain interface processes between the systems as applicable and UA Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (Banner). Develop scripts and automated processes. Develop other integrations as required. Use Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes for change, incident problem and configuration management. Serve as a resource to the Web Advisory Committee and Associate Director of Student Web Experience. Track and monitor assigned work and deadlines. Develop positive relationships with technical staff across the UA system. Develop knowledge skills and abilities in the core functions of the Web/Apps team and stay abreast of industry changes.Essential


  • Accountability for project management, typically impacting critical systems involving major work groups to include multiple functional areas; integration of new technologies as required.
  • Ability to research and analyze projects associated with software.

Typical Experience:

  • Minimum of three to five years of enterprise level systems analysis, design and development experience focused on a Windows environment, background in Microsoft Server technologies.
  • Preferred experience with web development including HTML/CSS/JavaScript, C#, PHP,  and libraries such as Foundation and Bootstrap.
  • Preferred familiarity with CMS frameworks and concepts.
  • Preferred experience with WCAG 2.1 AA requirements and web accessibility.
  • Experience with Drupal and OUCampus is a plus.
  • Experience with MySQL, Oracle and SQL Server is a plus.
  • Experience integrating multiple APIs and systems into a cohesive solution is a plus.

Required Education or Training:

  • BS degree that relates to the discipline of Information Technologies or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • No specific licenses are required.
  • Microsoft professional certification will be required within 1 year of employment.

Term Position:
