The Student Activities Board (SAB) will be hiring one student to act as an assistant for the Board. The successful applicant will support the Board with a focus on audio visual needs for events.
100% Set-up, manage, run, and tear-down audio visual equipment, rigging, cabling, and related equipment for events. They will deal with performers, speakers, and the Board to ensure proper set-up and functionality of the assigned equipment. Student Employment Requirements
Must be a UAS student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours, or the intent to enroll in six credit hours during the upcoming Fall 2019 semester.
Must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA, unless a first time freshmen.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
One year or more of AV technician experience preferred.
Drivers License preferred.
Strong attention to detail and written/verbal professional communication skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, and ability to complete tasks thoroughly and responsibly.
Ability to work with a team to co-plan events and work toward group consensus.
Ability to interact positively with students, university personnel, audience members, and performers/speakers.
Strong organizational, prioritization and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to successfully manage time and juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities with your academic and personal life.
This is a part-time, Student Assistant C position, $10.50/Hourly dependent on experience. Successful applicants will help plan, implement, evaluate, and report on student-driven, campus-wide events. Successful applicants will have excellent customer service skills, enjoy working collaboratively with their peers, and be enthusiastic about UAS and campus programming. Strong follow-through and dependability are key assets to being a successful SAB Assistant. Hours can be variable due to evening and weekend meeting and event schedules.
The AV Technical Specialist must be able to transport, assemble, maintain and troubleshoot equipment used in multimedia production. Knowledge of sound and lighting techniques for varied large and small events is helpful. They must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time, have good hearing and eyesight, and have the ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
