Northwest Campus is looking for a Student Services Technology Specialist to provide academic advising and technology support to all NWC students, instructors and programs in Nome while traveling throughout the region when necessary.
20 Instruction Support:
Collaborate with staff, faculty and student services to provide logistical support with equipment and developed resources throughout the region. Update and maintain resources for faculty and instructors, assisting in the development of a training resource for adjuncts. Prepare and submit necessary reports required for Northwest Campus and related programs. Essential
30 Technology Training & Development:
Remain current and familiar with OIT policies, procedures, software and university account tools. Update and maintain computer resources for students and traveling labs. Provide necessary training for students, staff, and instructors in variety of developed and implemented technology resources. In collaboration with Northwest campus staff and partners, lead a technology support program for all NWC student engagement. Essential
50 Student Support:
Provide academic advising, develop individual study plans, and degree cohort tracking. Provide student financial aid assistance, proctoring of exams, registration and related student support services. Assist students by acting as an advisor and information specialist while providing resources and guidance on actions needed to accomplish their education goals. Maintain student records and office files as required for all student support efforts, preparing reports and data as required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated ability to relate to students, potential students, as well as campus council members, regional stakeholders and partnering organizations. Knowledge of financial aid, university system, student services programs and support. Ability to develop and present information about programs and resources. Must have working knowledge of computer information systems and applicable software. Ability to travel to regional villages.
Required Experience: Online experience in MS Office, UAOnline and blackboard preferred. Knowledge or experience in Rural Alaska preferred.
Required Education and Training: Completion of an Associate degree program and one year experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience that includes online support and technologies.
10-months, Salary: $29.23/ hour
