This full-time position is looking for a candidate to facilitate Writing tutoring and instructional support to students attending Bristol Bay Campus. They will also conduct staff training, maintain student records and assist with evaluating program effectiveness.

Evaluate effectiveness of training programs and change/alter training for future sessions
Participate in campus and university meetings and related conferences as necessary
Provide reports and data to the Grants Manager

Develop and/or assist in the development of curriculum and course content
Guide, advise and tutor participants
Prepare and maintain records
Collect and prepare information and materials to be used in conducting and/or facilitating
training, meetings or seminars, including lesson plans, training guides, participant manuals,
videos, slides and other materials
Develop a writing curriculum
Schedule, coordinate and promote writing classes, workshops, seminars, or conferences
Select and develop training methods such as individual coaching, group instruction, demonstrations, meetings and workshops
Provide individualized assistance and group training to participants Essential
This recruitment is open internal to current UA employees as a promotional opportunity or those otherwise eligible to apply to internal postings.
Work is performed under administrative supervision and includes responsibility for a full
range of activities in developing and presenting writing instruction. This includes preparing course material, designing participant manuals, collecting appropriate videos and other materials, and conducting or facilitating training in various settings.
Knowledge of methods and techniques for conducting a needs assessment.
Ability to apply knowledge of instructional methods for youth, adult learners, and/or special populations (e.g., disabled or at-risk). Ability to develop original training content and material.
Rural Alaska experience or knowledge; distance education experience and skills.
Required Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and one year experience (i.e.training or human resource development), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Salary: $29.98/hr, DOE (27% geographical differential already included). This is a full-time, 10-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.
