The UAS Student Resource Center (SRC) is seeking applicants to serve as a Peer Advisor during the 2019/20 academic year. This is a great opportunity to obtain professional customer service experience, while attending classes. Peer Advisors provide a wide range of customer service to the UAS community. They are often the first point of contact for questions and, therefore, play a critical role in assisting individuals in need of guidance. Peer Advisors have an in-depth knowledge of the University’s programs and departments. In their role, they are tasked with effectively providing or directing individuals to proper information, managing confidential information, and ensuring successful day-to-day operations of the Student Resource Center.The SRC is an information center for the student advising, recruitment, counseling, and activities staff. Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis and filled as positions become available.
100% Answer phone calls, monitor email accounts, and staff the front desk in the Student Resource Center; Schedule appointments, complete daily reminder phone calls and emails, and refer students to appropriate offices/resources; Provide students with general information about UAS degree programs, course prerequisites, faculty expectations, etc.; Help students access UAOnline, UASOnline, DegreeWorks, and e-learning platforms; Assist students in accessing placement testing, academic advising, disability support services, mental health counseling, health clinic services, career advising, and academic exchange and study abroad programs; Assist with various projects as needed. Student Employment Requirements:
Must be a UAS student enrolled in a maximum of six credit hours throughout employment period.
Must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA throughout employment period.

This is a part-time Student Assistant B ($9.89/hourly)* position during the academic year and the incumbent may be provided the opportunity to work full-time during the summer. The initial application review will take place on December 9, 2019. *Rate increase to $10.19 per hour effective January 1, 2020.
