Position Summary:

This is a Student Assistant B, Step 2, $9.89/hr Labor Pool at KPC.

Duties:

This is a Student Assistant B, Step 2, $9.89/hr Labor Pool at KPC.

Duties/Responsibilities: Student applicants must be punctual and reliable, be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits and maintain a cummulative gpa of at least 2.0. Assess registration fees and receive payments; receive and shelve textbooks; sell books and merchandise, create displays, attach price tags and sales signage; file; balance daily cash receipts; box and ship books for return to vendor; assist with Bookstore inventory process; light cleaning duties to maintain Bookstore.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to work well under pressure; ability to work well with faculty, staff, students, and the general public; ability to lift 40 lbs.

Prefer first year students who plan to attend KPC at least two years.

Cashiering experience is helpful.

NOTICE: Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.  Must maintain a cumulative gpa of at least 2.0.

Probationary Period:
