The Department of Athletics at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking applicants to fill the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Alaska Nanook athletic program is a multi-divisional member of the NCAA, with 10 teams competing at the Division I and Division II levels. This is a 10 month position located on the UAF campus.
-Sports medicine skills: injury evaluation and treatment & rehabilitation, including the use of therapeutic modalities, taping, bandaging, physical rehabilitation techniques, physical conditioning techniques
-Emergency medical skills: injury evaluation and treatment, CPR, splinting, emergency transport, triage
-OSHA regulations regarding management of blood and other bodily fluids
-NCAA regulations regarding allowable medical coverage and student-athlete eligibility as it relates to injury and illness
-4 years of intercollegiate experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
TYPICAL EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
-Bachelor's Degree in athletic training or equivalent field .
-National Athletic Trainers Association Certification required.
-Master's Degree preferred

This is a full-time, Grade 78, minimum $23.60/hr, DOE, 10-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package.
