Student Assistant for the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER). This pool also recruits Student Assistants for the Center for Behavioral Health Research and Services (CBHRS).
Position: ISER / CBHRS Student Assistant C Pool
CBHRS and ISER student research assistants work with staff and faculty to complete research project objectives. Student researchers assist with varied tasks such as answering incoming calls on multi-line phone system, checking messages, data collection, data entry, ongoing confidential data management, transcription entry and processing, project related meeting/workshop implementation (e.g., registering participants, creating and copying materials, ordering food), ongoing monitoring and ordering project supplies, and various other research project objectives.
Qualified candidates for this position will be placed into a hiring pool for the fiscal year 2019-2020 from which persons may be hired.
Satisfactory completion of research compliance training (e.g., CITI, NIH or other) certification may be required prior to commencing project duties.
Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of a contract, nor does having worked one semester guarantee that a position will be available the following semester; hiring decisions are made on a semester-by-semester basis, according to the needs of that semester's schedule.
Qualified candidates will have professional communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to handle a variety of tasks that require accuracy and timely completion.
Attention to detail, organizational skills.
Experience in a research environment, knowledge of research and human subjects compliance.
At least 6 months experience in an administrative role.
Preferred: Experience in a research setting/environment in an area relevant to the projects for which the student is hired. These may be behavioral/health outcomes (psychology, sociology, anthropology, public health), economics, public policy, anthropology, etc.
Typical Education or Training:
Must be enrolled in no less than 6 credit hours during the academic year and have and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
Salary: $10.50/hour (non-exempt, part-time)
