Military & Veteran Student Services is part of Enrollment Services. Enrollment Services is part of the larger division of Student Affairs and comprises Admissions and Recruitment, Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, Student Information and International Student Services.
15 Explain VA education benefits and DoD tuition assistance to students, parents, staff, faculty and community partners. Troubleshoot and resolve issues presented via email, phone call and walk-in and explain requirements, regulations and processes associated with DoD and VA education benefits as well as the status of individual recipients. Work with students, parents and university staff to explain the student''s rights and responsibilities required for participation in DoD and VA programs while attending UAA. Respond to kiosk staff and/or call center calls from students, parents, university staff/faculty and the public regarding the financial aid process and the regulations that apply to the packaging, awarding and receiving of federal, state and private sources of financial aid, including a working understanding of the Montgomery GI Bill. Provide direction and information to inquiries on federal college work study positions. Resolve questions, issues with conflicting information on federal aid application. 15 Receive, maintain and process student submissions of DoD tuition assistance (TA) via email and GoArmyEd software. Analyze registration in BANNER to determine if it accurately matches TA submission. Assess student financials through accounting functions in BANNER and determine what charges are eligible for DoD funding. Resolve student financial records by placing applicable charges into contract for DoD invoicing via BANNER accounting functions. Monitor student activity throughout the semester, troubleshoot and adjust TA records in GoArmyEd, the AI-Portal and Navy NCMIS software accordingly based on DoD MOU requirements to insure institutional compliance. Work with students to manage their accounts through various military portals (GoArmyEd, AI-Port, and Navy NCMIS). Reconcile student activity between Banner and various portals in a timely fashion to assure appropriate processing of benefits and institutional compliance. Involves reporting of grades, uploading of degree plans, keeping institutional data up-to-date, submitting help desk tickets and regular trouble shooting of behalf of our students. Essential
30 Assess student financials through accounting functions in BANNER and determine what charges are eligible for VA funding. Certify students for VA benefits through use of VA-Once software and BANNER. Monitor student activity throughout the semester, troubleshoot and adjust VA certification accordingly based on VA regulations to insure institutional compliance. Analyze VA remittance coupons (notification of institutional debt) as they relate to individual student financials in BANNER and certification activity within VA-Once. Verify accuracy of debt and coordinate repayment to the VA with Accounting Services. Troubleshoot inaccurate debt notifications and explain the accurate data to the VA Debt Management Center to resolve correctly. Annotate BANNER and student records. Essential
40 Analyze and determine individual student''s military benefit eligibility based on course registration and degree applicability under current Department of Veterans Affairs regulations. Responsible for researching problems associated with courses found ineligible for VA funding with departments and registrar''s office and for communicating findings to student. Must be able to understand the complexities of how VA regulations interact with UAA programs and be able to provide detailed yet understandable explanations to students, staff and faculty while developing a plan for a student''s successful use of benefits. Maintain records related to VA recipient student financials, coursework, and programmatic pursuit, in OnBase, Banner, and local electronic records storage, in accordance with the code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and provide records to VA auditors upon request. Generate grade and registration activity reports and analyze results to determine what must be reported to the VA based on federal regulations. Report required grade, registration and academic standing information to the Department of Veterans Affairs through VA-Once (VA reporting software) and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors as appropriate. University experience which required data entry with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is preferred.
Typical Education or Training:
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Bachelor's degree or higher and previous experience working with military or department of education regulations preferred. All degrees should be from a from a regionally accredited institution.
Grade 77, Regular, Nonexempt, Full-time, 12 months per year, $21.59 hourly
