Position Summary:

The Human Resources Student Pool is open to currently enrolled University of Alaska students across the system. When submitting your application, please indicate your preferred work location in your application materials: Anchorage, Fairbanks, or Juneau.


Basic Duties
Basic duties may include answering phones and taking messages, handling incoming and outgoing office mail, responding to general inquiries for information, managing a general email account, photocopying materials as needed for department staff, and various other tasks and projects as assigned.

Student Pool Information
This is a student pool position and applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis during the year. Successful submission of an application does not guarantee employment. Successful applicants will be contacted as positions become available.

9/10/19 Update for Juneau: The UA HR office in Juneau is actively seeking student employees. If you are interested in joining the HR team, please submit an application. This is a pooled position and applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis. 


Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for student employment, an applicant must: 

A) Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or

B) Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and

C) Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer of the Senior Student Services officer.

D) An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.

Background Check: The successful applicant is required to complete a background check. Any offer of employment is contingent on the background check.

At-Will: Pursuant to Board of Regents’ Policy 04.01.055.B, temporary, extended temporary, adjunct, student, casual labor, regular new hire probationary employees and those positions designated by the president as officers and senior administrators of the university are employed at-will.

Training Policy: It is the policy of the University of Alaska Fairbanks that all employees are required to attend training to meet the requirements of the positions they hold, and to complete the required training within a specified period of time to remain employed at UAF.
