As a major research program in Alaska, EPSCoR is aimed at improving Alaska's scientific capacity by engaging in research projects supported through National Science Foundation and state funds. EPSCoR is commencing "Fire and Ice," a five-year project to study climate-driven changes to Alaskan wildfire regimes and coastal ecosystems. The program implements large-scale, statewide infrastructure and programmatic enhancement for innovative research, STEM education, workforce development, diversity and inclusion, and economic development in key areas of importance for the state of Alaska. The EPSCoR office is housed at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and constitutes a highly collaborative team of professionals with complementary skill sets who work together to manage daily operations, support the leadership team and provide expertise in all aspects of project management.

This Director position is a vital part of the fast paced Anchorage Center; the largest center in the statewide network. The Center Director is responsible for managing the Anchorage business advisors, representing the Alaska SBDC at Anchorage business and entrepreneurial events, developing and implementing new fundraising strategies and programs as well as maintaining relationships with local and regional stakeholders.
