The Alaska Center for Energy and Power is hiring a Program Director for our Office of Naval Research grant. This position provides oversight for the daily operations of the ONR grant including supervision and management of two staff members (shared supervision of Office Manager), maintenance of high quality research and education standards and practices, adherence to all licensing and accreditation standards, coordinates and supervises all research projects, practicum, interns, and mentoring programs. The ideal candidate for the ONR position must possess strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships with staff and funding agencies, excellent decision-making skills, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse constituency. The Project Director provides leadership and guidance to the research and administrative staff by supporting ACEP's core values and expectations of the ONR award. They oversee all research projects being conducted on ONR to help research faculty and staff complete the objectives outlined within the grant. Completing annual reports and providing additional information to the funding agency as needed to strengthen ACEP's position as Alaska's leading research organization in energy. This position will also be responsible for assisting the ACEP Executive Director with proposals for continued funding or additional funding opportunities.

HAARP Maintenance Technician

The High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) is the world's most capable high-power, high-frequency transmitter for the study of ionospheric. The operation of the research facility was transferred from the United States Air Force to the University of Alaska Fairbanks in August 2015, allowing the Geophysical Insitute to continue to operate the facility as an open international observatory for space physics and radio science.
