Assistant Director of Summer Engineering Program

This is a full-time, year-round position with flexibility for part-time or time off in Fall and Winter.
The Assistant Director will assist the Director with registration, administration, management, and logistical support of up to 25 one-week-long high school and middle school hands-on day-camp summer sessions in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) disciplines. The position will include assisting in management of the registration process, administrative support for instructors and staff including procurement of equipment and supplies, and providing quality customer service to parents and participants; assisting in budget management and cost-tracking; managing, organizing, and executing large scale banquet-style event each week for participants and parents; and other duties as assigned.
Additional tasks may be assigned to support the College of Engineering during the off-season and depending on skill set, these may include tasks in the areas of grant-writing, media, advertising, or recruiting.
This leadership position is part of Enrollment Services and focuses on student records, academic policies, and core services related to registration, graduation, student transcripts and transfer evaluation. Enrollment Services is part of the larger division of Student Affairs and comprises Admissions and Recruitment, Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, Student Information, International Student Services, and Veteran Student Services.

The successful candidate for this position will be assisting the UAF Grounds Crew with the day to day summer grounds maintenance of the UAF campus as well as satellite properties around Fairbanks. This work consists of servicing assigned sections of campus to meet documented expectations of appearance and safety. Tasks of mowing, trimming, trash and litter clean-up, water, flower bed maintenance, weeding, are all performed daily.

The Aviation Technology Division (ATD) is a component of UAA's Community & Technical College, and is located at the Aviation Technology Complex on Merrill Field Airport - approximately two miles north of the UAA campus.

ATD programs provide the technical competency, depth of knowledge, and skills to compete effectively in today's job environment. Students prepare for career pathways in the Aviation Industry for five academic programs of study, including Aviation Maintenance Technology, Aviation Administration/Management, Air Traffic Control, Professional Piloting, and an Aviation minor. At the start of the 2015 academic year, the Aviation Technology Division programs had approximately 400-450 declared majors.
