UAF's Community and Technical College is seeking a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Paramedicine to join the growing Emergency Services Department and Paramedic Academy. The successful candidate will teach classes, provide academic counseling, assist in maintaining the skills lab, assist in curriculum development. This position requires a current Paramedic NREMT Certification or State License, five years experience as a Paramedic, one year teaching experience and a Baccalaureate degree. A Masters degree OR be working to obtain a Masters degree within two years of appointment is preferred.

CAAS conducts research that addresses substance abuse in Alaska. The Center focuses on interdisciplinary and collaborative studies related to health issues of particular relevance to Alaskan residents. Prospective research foci include the determinants of substance abuse behaviors including alcohol, tobacco, and other harmful substances, protective factors associated with resilience in the face of such effects, and practical interventions to mitigate the effects of or treat such behaviors. Applicants must hold an earned terminal degree (MD, PhD, or DrPH) in alcohol and addiction studies or a related field and be qualified to teach research methods and addiction classes.
