Assistant Professor of Health Information Management Sitka
The Health Information Management (HIM) Associate of Applied Science degree program at the University of Alaska Southeast was implemented in 1992 and has been nationally accredited since its first survey in 1994. The program is delivered by e-learning and is seeking a creative, self-motivated and collaborative person to manage and expand the HIM program. The position is a full-time, tenure track position in Sitka, Alaska beginning August 12, 2018, or sooner depending on applicant availability. Appointment will be at the assistant or associate professor level depending upon education and experience. Faculty member will be responsible for HIM Program management, undergraduate teaching, advising, and recruiting activities within the University of Alaska Southeast Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Management. Teaching responsibilities will be primarily web-based synchronous and asynchronous course delivery, plus face-to-face non-credit professional development training as demand warrants. For example offering continuing education courses in current HIM topics of interest to HIM professionals. Successful applicant must relocate/reside in Sitka, Alaska.

The School of Social Work Post-Doctoral Fellow position is a 9-month appointment (August to May). The appointment may be renewed for up to an additional two years. A post-doctoral fellow will teach one course per semester during their first year, with the teaching load likely increasing to a 2/2 load in the subsequent two years. We seek someone who wants to conduct and disseminate research that benefits Alaskans and the circumpolar north; we are especially interested in someone who can develop his/her own emerging research program with responsiveness to community needs. An MSW from an accredited program, at least two years’ post-MSW practice experience, and a doctorate in Social Work or a related field are required (ABD acceptable at application providing that a candidate has completed all requirements for the Ph.D. by the beginning of fall semester 2018). Senior Systems Engineer Fairbanks
