Multi-Cultural Post Doctoral Fellow
The School of Social Work Post-Doctoral Fellow position is a 9-month appointment (August to May). The appointment may be renewed for up to an additional two years.
We seek a colleague who is interested in issues of diversity and disparity, community-engaged research, and/or one of the following fields of practice: child welfare, behavioral health, and/or refugees/immigrants. A post-doctoral fellow will teach one course per semester during their first year, with the teaching load likely increasing to a 2/2 load in the subsequent two years. Community-engaged research is highly prized in this School. We seek someone who wants to conduct and disseminate research that benefits Alaskans and the circumpolar north; we are especially interested in someone who can develop his/her own emerging research program with responsiveness to community needs. The successful candidate will receive structured mentorship, allowing for substantive development of one’s research, teaching, and service agenda and outcomes.
An MSW from an accredited program, at least two years’ post-MSW practice experience, and a doctorate in Social Work or a related field are required (ABD acceptable at application providing that a candidate has completed all requirements for the Ph.D. by the beginning of fall semester 2018). Senior Systems Engineer
The University of Alaska is seeking a candidate to join our OIT Systems Engineering Team. Our mission is to protect, provide for, and progress the software and systems behind many of the University of Alaska's services. Like many system admins, we keep important, critical systems up and running despite bandwidth outages and configuration errors. However, the team also develops new products including, full-stack web applications, simulators, distributed data migrations, and next-gen monitoring to name a few. Not only do we have fun projects like that, but our regular workday involves a lot of DevOps practices and Lean IT processes. We also manage thousands of computers (all University-owned computers, laptops, and tablets), package our own installers, manage the licensing for University-owned software, as well as the servers and infrastructure for many of the University's services.
Summer Sessions & Lifelong Learning (SSLL) is a dynamic, fast-paced department that administers the Summer Sessions academic program. SSLL is a self-support unit responsible for recruiting and serving students in summer academic programs and WINTERmester. In addition, SSLL coordinates and sponsors community events, and participates in outreach programming such as educational travel and youth camps.
This position is the first point of contact for the students, faculty and community that we serve.
UAF Community & Technical College - Tenure Track Assistant Professor, Paramedicine
UAF's Community and Technical College is seeking an enthusiastic Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Paramedicine to join the growing Emergency Services Department and Paramedic Academy. The successful candidate will teach classes, provide academic advising, assist in maintaining the skills lab, assist in curriculum development. This position requires a current Paramedic NREMT Certification or State License, five years experience as a Paramedic, one year teaching experience and a Baccalaureate degree. A Masters degree OR be working to obtain a Masters degree within two years of appointment is preferred.
