The Student office assistant will work with the Financial Aid staff to serve as a liaison between the University of Alaska Southeast and students applying for financial aid. Youth Peer Mentor - Resident Advisor
The Della Keats Health Sciences & Summer Research Program is a four-week program for Alaska high school juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a career in biomedical research, and health or medical care. The Youth Peer Mentor (YPM) / Resident Advisor is a temporary, 4-week position starting around July 5 and ending August 4, 2018.
The Program is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill four YPM positions. YPMs will mentor and supervise high school juniors and seniors, assist the staff of the Della Keats Sciences & Summer Research Program. The YPMs must be alcohol, tobacco, and drug free (UAA is a drug-free work place).
YPMs assist student's transition to life on campus with organized activities, seminars, study groups, and more. Qualified individuals should be responsible, self-motivated, flexible, and demonstrate the ability to multi-task and interact well with students from diverse backgrounds. A health-oriented education is preferred but not required. Successful completion of a background check and code of conduct are required to work with Minors on campus. Driving record is required.
All YPM staff must be able to reside in UAA's resident hall for the duration of the program. Primary working times are nights and weekends with limited duties between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Staff are allotted one 24 hour period off-campus per week.
