The Vivarium Manager position manages the day-to-day operations of UAA's animal research facility ensuring that care of the animals in in compliance with the federal regulations by which animal research facilities are governed. Lead Lab Technician
The University of Alaska Anchorage is recruiting for a lead lab technician in the Transportation and Power Division to work with the Automotive and Diesel Technology program and Welding/Nondestructive Testing Technology program.
The program is housed within the Transportation & Power Division of UAA's Community and Technical College. Students in the program are preparing for career opportunities in Automotive and Diesel Technology occupations and Welding/Nondestructive Testing fields. Courses are offered at the certificate and associate degree levels.
This position serves as support staff for the academic programs housed within the Transportation and Power Division. The person hired for this position will be responsible for the maintenance of tools, equipment, inventory, assisting with OSHA compliance and other regulatory safety standards, classroom and lab support for instructional programs, procurement of materials for laboratory activities and facility maintenance. This position also supervises a part-time lab technician and multiple student workers.
Two years college coursework in a related field and two years experience in a related industry is required. AKDL driver's license and clean driving record required. Training and current certification in OSHA Forklift operation and commercial driver’s license is preferred. Current Welding, NDT, or ASE related certifications are preferred.

Student Support Services is an academic retention program with the goal of helping at-risk (i.e. first generation, financially limited or living with disabilities) students succeed in college.
