Position Summary:

This is a pool from which the College of Arts and Sciences divisions of Math & Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Performing and Fine Arts will draw when research professionals are needed to work on grant- or contract-funded projects. This temporary position may be part- or full-time. Qualified applicants for this position will be placed into a hiring pool, for the academic year 2019-2020, from which research professionals will be hired. Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of a contract.

This is a pool from which the College of Arts and Sciences divisions of Math & Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, and Performing and Fine Arts will draw when research professionals are needed to work on grant- or contract-funded projects. This temporary position may be part- or full-time.

Qualified applicants for this position will be placed into a hiring pool, for the academic year 2019-2020, from which research professionals will be hired.

Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of a contract.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  Knowledge of research methods and analytical procedures. Ability to use computerized tools to organize and analyze information and communicate findings. Knowledge of standard reporting procedures. Skilled in accurate data collection methods.

Required Experience:  Varies according to project requirements and level of position to be filled:
Research Professional 1: Six months' experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
Research Professional 2: One year's experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
Research Professional 3: Two years' postgraduate level experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
Research Professional 4: Four years' postgraduate level experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
Research Professional 5: Four years' postgraduate level experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.

Typical Education or Training: Varies according to project requirements and level of position to be filled:
Research Professional 1: Bachelor's degree and six months' experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g. science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Research Professional 2: Bachelor's degree and one year's experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g. science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Research Professional 3: Master's degree and two years' postgraduate level experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g. science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Research Professional 4: Master's degree and four years' experience at postgraduate level in a field relevant to the research (e.g. science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Research Professional 5: PhD and four years' postgraduate level experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g. science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Minimum Hourly Rates:
Research Professional 1: $22.36/hour
Research Professional 2: $24.43/hour
Research Professional 3: $26.69/hour
Research Professional 4: $29.19/hour
Research Professional 5: $32.83/hour

The level of any hire will be determined by the needs of the position and not by the level of education and/or training of the person being hired.

Successful applicants must provide official transcripts documenting academic credentials required for the position as a condition of employment. Qualifying earned degrees must be conferred either by institutions of higher education which are accredited by one of the six US regional accrediting associations or by an equivalent international institution of higher education as determined by UAA based on a review by a foreign educational credential evaluation service and recognized by UAA.
