Scan and electronically save all fiscal related documents. Create new fiscal year folders prior to June 30. Box, label and store any hard copy files. Essential
Assist Fiscal Staff in requesting and electronically filing purchase forms needed for weekly reconciliation. Assist in preparing monthly cardholder statements for all cardholders. Archive prior year purchases at the end of the fiscal year. Create new fiscal year (FY) folders for all procard holders. Create a new FY google sheet prior to June 30 to avoid disruption to daily purchasing digital records. Essential
Assist Fiscal Staff with Summer Component and general office purchasing needs using a pro card for purchases under $5,000. Request quotes and any necessary documents for purchases larger than $5,000 for Fiscal Technician processing. Essential
Assist Fiscal Staff with Summer Component student travel authorizations and expense reports. Email/call parents of students with travel itinerary. Provide Program Director's with a spreadsheet of departure and arrivals for easy shuttle coordination. Save completed travel packets in correct digital folders before submitting hard copies to AP for final processing. Essential
The Alaska Native Science & Engineering Program at UAA is recruiting for a Temporary ANSEP Fiscal Assistant to help with fiscal duties for the Summer Bridge, Acceleration Academy, STEM Career Exploration, and Middle School Academy components. These components provide students with a living and learning environment that provides an academic college experience. The programs, services and
activities we offer are designed to enhance students' educational experiences and provide the framework for active participation as a team member. Summer Bridge is aimed at recent high school graduates who will be attending the University of Alaska (UA) in the fall. During Summer Bridge students take college level math and science courses preparing them for University level math and science at UA, and also work a professional internship with one of ANSEP's partner organizations. Acceleration Academy is targeted at high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors. The Acceleration Academy provides an opportunity for students to accelerate their academic progress so they are more than ready for college. These students will live on campus for 5 weeks while enrolling in college level math, science or engineering courses. Acceleration Academy students will also engage in hands on science and engineering activities and projects. STEM Career Exploration is an opportunity specifically for past Middle School Academy participants. During the STEM sessions students will engage in handson STEM projects during a 5-day period. These students will live on campus for the duration of the STEM session.
Middle School Academy recruits students who will be entering 6th, 7th or 8th grades in the fall after the academy. Middle School Academy is a two week, academic, residential academy that emphasizes increasing the students' mathematics and science skills while introducing them to college life and stimulating their interest in science and engineering as a potential career path.
Evidence of exceptional leadership, work ethic, integrity, and high moral standards through references. Knowledge of or experience with rural Alaska Natives and their lifestyles and cultures. General knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel, filing systems and purchasing. Organizational skills, basic administrative skills, ability to complete tasks by weekly deadlines.
One year + prior experience working with ANSEP Summer components as a YPM and as an ANSEP Lab Tech is preferred.
High school diploma and currently enrolled in college preferred with minimum of 20 University credits successfully completed.
