The Center for Human Development at the University of Alaska Anchorage in the College of Health is recruiting a Training Coordinator.
10 Design and conduct evaluation activities to measure effectiveness and drive the continuous improvement of programs and trainings; prepare project reports for funding agencies. Write proposals to secure external funding. Essential
10 Identify, recruit, and enlist content experts including development and management of personal services contracts. Essential
10 Responsible for fiscal and program management of multiple funding sources including grants and the contracts related to a multi-faceted, collaborative programs including partnership with Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority and members of the Workforce Initiative Workgroup. Essential
15 Provide and/or facilitate multi-disciplinary training workshops and statewide conferences for paraprofessionals and professionals across Alaska in collaboration with disability service providers, AK Behavioral Health Association stakeholders, Division of Senior and Disability Services, Division of Behavioral Health, and Mental Health Trust Authority. Essential
20 Plan and administer program activities specific to disabilities training with strong emphasis on mental health/behavioral health content and education including developing objectives and timelines for work completion (involves multiple funding sources and extensive involvement of disabilities and mental health/behavioral health, providers statewide). Essential
20 Responsible for training and/or coordinating training for the Long-term care workforce statewide who provide an array of services and support to beneficiaries and the AK Mental Health Trust Authority (AMHTA). This training requires a multi-disciplinary approach, including disabilities, mental health and behavioral health, and the use of a learning management system. Essential
5 Coordinate training with other trainers and faculty from other University of Alaska MAUs in behavioral health and social science disciplines. This position will be responsible to work with a variety of faculty and other training professionals representing several disciplines to embed best practices into existing curriculum and new curriculum. 5 Develop materials for distance and asynchronous training formats. This position will be responsible to develop a variety of curriculum materials, such recorded and web-based curriculum. Essential

About CHD: The Center for Human Development (CHD) is a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities in Education, Research, and Service (UCEDDs) authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000. There are 67 UCEDDs, at least one in every state and territory, which form an Association of UCEDD's (AUCD.org). Since CHD is the only UCEDD in Alaska, we serve the entire state.

Community training and technical assistance
These activities are designed to increase the independence, productivity, and community integration and inclusion for individuals with
disabilities. CHD’s projects and activities are not limited to developmental disabilities; they focus on a wide range of disabilities, ages, and issues.
Position Summary: This position will provide coordination and facilitate non-academic training instruction for the professional/licensed behavioral health service provider workforce and support career development opportunities for direct service professionals serving people with disabilities and their families. This position will also be a training team member and serve as the lead for both in-person and distance delivered program training activities focused on collaborating with Alaskan communities to train rural behavioral health care providers by blending best practices with traditional wisdom. Knowledge of Behavioral Health professional/clinical services background and understanding of/experience in rural Alaska beneficial.
This position will work under the supervision of the Alaska Training Cooperative (AKTC) Director at the UAA Center for Human Development.
The grant funded AKTC program mission is to promote career development opportunities for direct service professionals, supervisors and professionals in the field engaged with the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority beneficiaries, by ensuring that training technical assistance and workforce training is accessible and coordinated statewide.
Knowledge of best practices in mental health/behavioral health, person centered care, positive behavioral
support. Knowledge of disabilities related to mental illness and behavioral health disabilities.
Ability to design instructional materials and deliver mental health/behavioral health content.
Four years working in the field of disability with emphasis in mental health/behavioral health with experience as an education coordinator and/or staff development coordinator.
Experience in managing complex projects.
Ability to train others.
Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in nursing, social work, psychology, human services, criminal justice, or related field or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
Preference for Master's degree in nursing, social work, psychology, or human services.
Position Information: Term-Funded, Exempt (salary), Full-Time, 12 months per year
