UAS Information Technology Services is a fast-paced and fun team that serves the needs of a dynamic and growing university campus. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining the campus virtual desktop environment and regional Microsoft Windows operating system images. This is a full-time, 12-month, permanent position. All applicants should have both a Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience supporting a Microsoft Windows virtual desktop environment. Required Education & Experience
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e. Information Technology or another related field) and two years of professional experience supporting a Microsoft Windows virtual desktop environment; Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Education & Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktop computers in a Citrix App Layering/VMware Horizon View virtual environment.
Preferred experience with virtualization technologies (Citrix App Layering, VMware Horizon View), and Microsoft Windows imaging technologies (Ghost and WIM formats).
Experience working successfully with people of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Ability to develop, maintain, update, and use computers in a virtual desktop environment (VMware, Citrix, etc).
Ability to develop, maintain, and update customized operating system images.
Ability to detect problems with equipment logistics, system setup and configuration, system security, and software installation.
Ability to maintain, update, repair desktop computing hardware and software.
Ability to perform preventative maintenance, and attach workstations to networks, Intranet, and LAN servers.
Effective customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong critical thinking skills.
This is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt staff position complete with a
full employee benefits package. New hires typically are placed somewhere between steps one through ten on the staff salary schedule, Grade 79, (based on education and experience). This is an open until filled recruitment with the initial application review taking place on May 20th, 2019.
