University of Alaska Southeast School of Arts and Sciences is seeking two part time student office assistant for Spring 2019. Our student staff is integral to the success of the office. Each student staff member will directly report to one professional staff member and your duties will vary based on your assignment. Working directly with one staff member in particular and the entire staff in general.
Advocate for the School of Arts and Sciences.
Provide quality customer service.
Support general office operations i.e. filing, running errands, making photocopies, processing paperwork, data base management marketing, posters, mailings, phone, etc.
Direct faculty, staff, student and guests to appropriate resources throughout the UAS and the UA system
Assist with various projects as needed.
Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff.
Other duties as assigned
Description of outcomes: As a student employee for the School of Arts and Sciences there will be many outcomes for you including, but not limited to:

Qualifications: Must be at least a half time (minimum six-credit) student with a minimum GPA of 2.5, currently have and expect to have a clear UAS judicial record. Applicants must demonstrate:
Problem solving, creative thinking and critical thinking skills
Excellent organizational skills
Self-motivation and initiative
Ability to work well as a member of a team, as well as independently
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Degree seeking student
Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite (G Suite)
Familiarity with the University of Alaska Southeast
This is a Student Assistant B position ($9.89/minimum hourly rate) for the AY19 academic year. Initial applicant review will occur towards the end of February 2019.
