Position Summary:

Duties:

15Make immediate, concise decisions and commitments during construction, renovation, and cleaning projects to avoid delays and resultant claims. Resolve disputes such as acceptability of the quality of work performed.Essential
25Coordinate project schedules and activities with DD&C project managers, users, maintenance personnel, and contractors to ensure uninterrupted progress of work, and facilitate occupancy of residential facilities by the UniversityEssential
60Marginal - Provide continuous monitoring or inspection of contractor’s quality of workmanship and materials for compliance with the contract documents. Maintain regular reports and photo journals for possible legal record. Initiate corrective action for deficiencies.Essential

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of policies, principles, and practices relating to construction, renovation, and cleaning project management.

 

Required Experience:

Documented experience managing or coordinating facilities project such as interior renovations, roofing, flooring installation, furniture replacement, or larger deep cleaning programs.  Experience providing quality control in a facilities management environment.

 

Typical Education or Training:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, Logistics, Facilities Management, or a closely related field is strongly preferred.  In lieu of a Bachelor’s, a combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.

Documented training in project management, construction management, logistics, or business management.  Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and computer skills to include MS Office/MS Project, CMMS systems, and internet applications.

This is a Grade 80; minimum starting pay $26.69.
